Artistic Eco-armchair with PPPattern

We have begun an exciting partnership with PPPattern: our Linea armchair takes on a new look. We are proud to present the never-before-seen interpretations conceived and designed by four Italian artists.

Giving creative minds the freedom to express themselves, in our opinion, always leads to opportunities for mutual enrichment.

With the aim of giving the materieunite project an artistic scope, we identified the Linea armchair as a functional drawing board, perfect for welcoming graphical projects.

Adriano Attus, Paola Arena, Heygraphic (aka Oscar Cauda) and Marta Cortese created four patterns specifically for this project.

We willingly embraced the idea of applying patterns to the theme of eco-design”, stated Renato Fontana, CEO of PPPattern. “So we selected four brilliant Italian artists already present in our repertoire, with the aim of interpreting the theme in a truly original way in terms of both the creative approach and style. From Marta Cortese’s botanical language and lush ecosystem to Heygraphic’s dynamic, essential and descriptive allusion to the animal kingdom and plant life. Not to mention Paola Arena’s unmistakable and symbolic analogue-digital stokes, and lastly Adriano Attus’ numeric language and ultra-pop system/code. A project we genuinely believe in, and which we hope will conquer public and private spaces for lots of art-conscious and art-wrapped seating.”

The Linea armchair is made of recycled and recyclable materials from responsible sources: its components are made of honeycomb cardboard and Linoleum, making it both waterproof and cleanable.

The digital printing is environmentally safe, using eco-friendly inks. The images are printed directly onto the Linoleum in high definition.

Adriano Attus

Born in Sanremo in 1971, Adriano Attus lives and works in Milan. He is the Creative Director of Il Sole 24 Ore and boasts twenty years of experience as a graphic designer and art director for leading Italian newspapers. He has worked with Axa, Bloomberg, Bombay Sapphire, Bmw, Eni, Iulm. Multifaceted and transmedia, he took his first steps in the world of art in 2013, exhibiting at the Mudec Art Wall in Milan, at Wopart in Lugano, and the Biennale in Lucca.

Paola Arena

Paola Arena aka Pimp My Mag transforms fashion magazine editorials and covers into unique pieces by adding her own interpretive key to pre-existing layouts. Particularly in the age of hyper-fast consumption, her aim is to react to the stimuli by which we are perpetually bombarded, metabolising them in a new aesthetic vision. She has worked with Rinascente and Quattrocento Eyewear, among others. She lives between Rome and Lamezia Terme.

heygraphic

Oscar Cauda is an illustrator and graphic designer. Born in 1990 in Pinerolo (TO), after completing his studies at an artistic lyceum, he graduated from the Polytechnic University of Turin in Graphic Design.
He signs his works as “heygraphic”, designing on very different surfaces and objects – shoes, canvases, wall surfaces, T-shirts – alternating between digital and freehand styles.
His works have been appreciated and used by brands such as Netflix, Nike, Red Bull and Adidas.

Marta Cortese

Marta Cortese is a textile designer who hand-crafts designs intended for use in the fashion and interior design world.
Active since 2015, she develops natural and botanical themed motifs for large international companies (BeBlumarine, Coin, Casamance, Inkiostro Bianco, Stoeckel & Grimmler) as well as for emerging brands (Bolami), also on commission.
