materieunite is an Italian company, a team of young designers, architects and creative talents who work together every day to develop and promote a new model of sustainable design.

We use cutting-edge technological and digital tools. We explore combining cardboard with other materials from recovery and recycling chains. This synergy allows us to develop highly functional installations in support of efficient environmental performance.

We design our projects with the aim of welcoming and including visitors within the space. We believe that in order to create a balanced relationship with our environment, it needs to be restored to its natural, circular and regenerative essence.

This is why we choose to use only recycled and recyclable materials. Our aim is to create structures that, having reached the end of their life cycle, can find a new one, thus enabling the continuous renewal of resources and energy.

Our history

2018

The materieunite concept is born.

materieunite was created as part of a Research & Development project by Arti Grafiche Celori, an historic printing house in central Italy with almost a hundred years’ experience in the paper industry. Following the purchase of a CNC cutting plotter for digital printing, the company decided to invest in the search for young creative talents and designers with the aim of giving life to a new project.

2019

Establishment in the Italian market.

The first projects were developed in the city of Terni, the birthplace and headquarters of materieunite, driven by the desire to introduce new stimuli to an industry that had long been linked with the production of highly polluting materials such as steel and plastic. Participation in Torino Graphic Days opened up the regional borders to new collaborations Italy-wide.

2021

materieunite becomes a Startup and wins the New European Bauhaus prize.

In May 2021, materieunite grew from an R&D project to a fully-fledged innovative start-up. In September, the European Commission named the company a “Rising Star” of the New European Bauhaus. In November, yet another accolade with a special mention by Nativa for environmental sustainability.

2022

The new materieunite headquarters and the path to B-Corp certification.

In May 2022, thanks to the support of Sviluppumbria, materieunite moved its headquarters to the new industrial building. The materieunite Evolution project began, a coaching course offered by Nativa as a prize for the “Environmental Sustainability” Mention at the CNA “Premio Cambiamenti” (Change Award). The aim was to achieve B-Impact Assessment Certification and become a Benefit Corporation.
