The history of materiaunite
2018
Birth of the materieunite concept.
materieunite was born within the Research and Development program of Arti Grafiche Celori, a historic printing company in central Italy with almost a hundred years of experience in the paper industry. Following the purchase of a numerically controlled cutting plotter for digital printing, the company decided to invest in the search for young creatives and designers with the goal of bringing a new project to life.
2019
Affirmation on Italian territory.
The first projects are developed in the city of Terni, the birthplace and headquarters of materieunite, with the desire to bring new stimuli within an industrial reality that has always been known for the production of highly polluting materials such as steel and plastic. Participation in the Turin Graphic Days opens regional boundaries to new collaborations throughout the country.
2021
materieunite becomes a startup and wins the New European Bauhaus award.
In May 2021, materieunite from an R&D project becomes a full-fledged innovative startup. In September, the company’s award by the European Commission as a “Rising Star” of the New European Bauhaus. In November another recognition with a special mention by Nativa for environmental sustainability.
2022
The new materieunite headquarters and the path to B-Corp certification.
In May 2022, thanks to the support of Sviluppumbria, materieunite will move its headquarters to the new industrial hall.
2023
Better Stands recognition and affirmation on European soil.
Barcelona, Berlin, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Lille, Mallorca are just some of the cities in which materieunite is beginning to place itself through its stands and retail projects.
2024
Constant research and discovery of new languages
Each solution is now the result of a process of exploration that questions materials, forms and functions, with the aim of identifying new expressive languages capable of dialoguing with the present
2025
The AGAVE project and the first product line.
In 2025, materieunite begins testing Agave, a proprietary integrated
platform for design
and production of fittings. At the same time, the first furniture collections are launched.
